Want Some Self Esteem Affirmations?
Want to know how to be happy? Self esteem affirmations are a good way to help you raise your self worth. A happy person is someone who has a high self esteem.
When's the best time to do them? They are best done daily in the morning before you do anything else. There are two reasons for this - Affirmations are a way to program your subconscious mind and it's near to the surface at this time, just after sleep.
- You will be starting the day off in a positive way and so your day will flow better.
Another good time is just before you go to sleep. This is another time when your subconscious mind is near the surface. Your brain will be processing and embedding these thoughts as you sleep. Make Your Affirmations More PowerfulSelf Esteem affirmations work well when you say them with strong emotion and when you are in a relaxed state. I love to lie in bed and use my binaural beats CD "Insight" while I relax. It gives me a time frame and a concrete something to help frame the session.
What makes good self affirmations? In thinking what makes a good daily affirmation for raising self esteem I considered what contributes to a low self esteem. The self critical talk that goes on in our heads is a clue as to what we need to affirm in ourselves. For instance my personal self talk berates me for - lacking self discipline
- not doing better in a situation
- making mistakes
- not doing something I said I would do
- being irritable or impatient with someone
- feeling guilty and berating myself for all the above!

Live your Self Esteem AffirmationsI said at the top of this page that the best time to give self esteem affirmations is either side of sleep. That is true but Louise has just reminded me, having looked at her book for those self affirmations given above, that we need to be saying them throughout the day as well. This will counteract those negative thoughts that pop into our heads so much. By the way, if you're having difficulty believing any self esteem affirmation given on this page, then go to my page on Powerful Affirmations for a way to get around that challenge. The simple technique of EFT described there will help you accept these self esteem affirmations as true.
